Portable Wheatstone Bridge (32042)

Facility for Cable Fault Location by adopting Murray or Varley Loop Circuit Tests

• Self contained with a Dry Battery and a Galvanometer
• Equipped with Switches for controlling sensitivity

• Contained in hard wooden box with good polish. A carrying handle provided to make it portable (Portable Wheatstone Bridge). Rubber feet provided.

The range is 0.001 ohm (Ω) to 11.11 Mohm (MΩ). The multiplying factors of 0.001, 0.01, 1.0, 10, 100 and 1000 in the ratio arms for bridge and Varley Circuits are provided. For Murray Loop test, the multiplying factors are 10, 100 and 1000. In series arm four decades in steps of thousands (1000), hundreds (100), tens (10) and units (1) of ohms can be used as a series resistance box also. Manganin Coils having accuracy of ±0.05% or ±1 milliohm have been used.

Wheatstone Bridge (P.O Boxes) Plug Type

Made of specially treated material to withstand wear and tear. Plugs are turned to a fixed taper on precision machines and are interchangeable. Metal blocks are specially shaped under cut and fitted to thick plates of the high insulation materials. The coils are mounted beneath the plate. The coil value are clearly marked on the metal blocks and infinity gap is provided. These have three pairs of ratio coils of 10, 100 and 1000 Ohms and 16 series coils of 1, 2, 2, 5, 10, 20, 20, 50, 100, 200, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 2000 and 5000 ohms (Total 11110 Ohms)

Two tapping keys with silver contacts are provided for battery and Galvanometer contained in a polished hard wood case.

Conductivity Attachments: Wire holding device designed for the determination of resistance of cable and wires. Heavy terminals for current connections are provided. The potential contact points are designed so that the conductor between them is exactly 50.
